Megamind Rules!, formerly known as Megamind's Guide To Defending Your City, is an animated series based on the film Megamind. Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simons, writers of the film, are co-creators and executive producers for the series, joined by Eric Fogel as an executive producer and JD Ryznar as co-executive producer and story editor.[1] The series was announced on February 11, 2022 and is broadcasted on the Peacock streaming service. On February 1, 2024, it was announced Megamind Rules! would release on March 1, 2024, along with the new direct-to-streaming movie Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate. [1]
Synopsis[]
Megamind goes from being a supervillain and the scourge of Metro City to a superhero who’s learning on the job. He’ll be bringing the audience along for the ride, as Megamind’s trusty brainbots will be recording everything, making him the world’s first superhero influencer.

Development[]
The series is being developed by Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simons, who wrote the original film. On August 5, 2022, Simons posted a tweet stating "MEGAMIND’S writer room is wrapping up today as production moves forward. If you’re looking for some wonderfully talented and amazing people to join writing your staff, @alanfofalan and I got some dynamite recommendations. Hit us up!"[2]
On February 1, 2024, it was retitled as Megamind Rules! when a trailer was released for a TV movie pilot along with a release date.
